We have opened an office in Palma de Mallorca in order to enhance our business in the Balearic Islands. From here, we will serve local businesses, undertake different projects and foster a closer relationship with our clients, the main hotel chains.

Naturally, our presence in the Balearic capital will allow us to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of its tourism sector from a technological point of view, in order to support our clients on their path towards digital transformation. We also support other private companies on this journey and, of course, the Balearic public sector, as shown by our large 5-year contract with the Island’s Government to develop a project for the electronic management and processing of files.

According to Alberto Loureiro, associate director of Altia, “we continue to support the development of innovative digital transformation projects for the main hotel chains, continuing to foster a trust that began more than five years ago and that remains strong in these particularly complex times for this strategic sector”.

In 2018, Altia joined Turistec, the first international cluster focused on information and communication technologies (ICT) applied to the tourism sector in the Balearic Islands. Altia has been a member of Turistec’s Executive Committee since 2019. This task was entrusted to Óscar Muñoz Pérez, account manager of Altia, who was part of the candidacy supported by a majority of the ordinary general meeting, comprising 70% of the workforce of Turistec’s partners and representing 49% of internal GDP.

Turistec’s mission is to raise the business competitiveness indicators of a series of entities in the islands’ tourism sector, which have common and opposing interests that Turistec has been able to manage thanks to networking, collaboration and knowledge transfer.
