We have been awarded, in a temporary union of companies (UTE) with Unisys, the contract for the development of software and IT services of the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA).

The project involves the provision of consulting services and corrective and adaptive maintenance of EFCA systems. The project, which will be developed in four phases, it aims to boost the control and management of fisheries, an activity based on the collection, storage and exchange of large data sets between the parts.

Currently, there is a wide range of data management solutions, which makes it difficult to exchange data between them, and often offers questionable quality and a high operating cost. To alleviate this situation, we will provide EFCA with a specific solution through the FLUX project (Fisheries Language for Universal eXchange) project that defines a universal and efficient data exchange "language” compatible with (but not limited to) international regulations and requirements. This will limit heterogeneous data sets, ranging from small reports on the whereabouts of individual fishing vessels to aggregate reports of monthly (or annual) catches of a country's entire fleet. This data will be collected for different purposes. Sometimes they will be used to monitor the behavior of a single ship, and in other cases they will serve scientific purposes.

According to Jesús Criado, Altia's technical director, "With this contract for software development and IT services, Altia consolidates its position as a supplier of the PPPs.
