Altia’s Tourism team took part in FITUR 2024 (the Madrid International Tourism Trade Fair) to present its services and technological solutions for the tourism industry

Representatives from the Madrid and Bilbao offices of Altia and Bilbomática, an Altia Company, attended FITUR 2024 from January 24 to 28 to showcase our ability to address the technological challenges faced by tourist destinations and companies in the industry.

On Sunday 28 at 11:30 am, the ‘CUENCA es DTI’ project  (‘Cuenca as a Smart Tourism Destination’) for the City Council of Cuenca, which included the first Virtual Tourist Office in Spain, was presented at the stand of the Regional Government of Castilla La Mancha.

The ‘CUENCA es DTI’ project was presented by the Mayor of Cuenca, Darío Dolz; the Councillor for Tourism, Marta Tirado García; and Francisco Vargas, Product Owner of eVisitar, which is Altia’s eTourism solution. This project represents the City Council’s commitment to innovation in an ecosystem of technological solutions aligned with the Smart Tourism Destination strategies of Segittur, the Spanish state company dedicated to the management of tourism innovation and technologies.

The ‘CUENCA es DTI’ Ecosystem developed by Altia provides key innovative tools, such as a CRM system for the City Council to manage and promote tourism; a platform that includes a professional web portal with regulated membership processes; a web platform for the management and promotion of conferences in the city of Cuenca as a growing conference destination; a commerce and business platform; and a platform for family tourism offering a distinctive vision of tourism through gamification; a chat box for tourists; various apps for self-guided tours; and the innovative Virtual Tourist Office integrated with the web platform using immersive elements based on virtual reality.

In short, this technological ecosystem integrates tools and shares information to allow the city of Cuenca to develop gradually, meeting the challenges of Smart Tourism Destinations in line with the strategy set out by Segittur.

With the Cuenca City Council presenting this smart tourism project at FITUR 2024, along with our presence, we have positioned ourselves as a relevant player in digital transformation and as a leading company for technological services and solutions in the tourism industry.
