Altia (in a joint venture with Tracasa), has been awarded the contract for the development and maintenance of the Infrastructure Management Services (SMI-SATCEN) of the Satellite Centre of the European Union (SatCen.)
Altia has been awarded, in UTE (temporary union of companies) with Tracasa, the contract for the development and maintenance of the Service Management Infrastructure (SMI-SATCEN) of the European Union Satellite Center (SatCen) . Developed in two phases, the project has been funded by the EU Copernicus programme
The contract, valued at 845,000 euros , includes the deployment of the IT services necessary for the development and maintenance of a Service Management Infrastructure (SMI or System) that is composed of five subsystems: workflow management, data storage, task creation, document management and business intelligence.
This system, which aims to support the daily management of Copernicus SEA by monitoring and managing tasks and processes at both operational (cartographic production) and administrative levels, consists of a platform capable of automating workflows, connecting the structure of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the service coordinator (SatCen), the geospatial production contractor and the end-users of the Copernicus Service in support of EU actions (EEAS, European Commission, EU Member States, etc.).
The project includes activities such as:
- Specification, design, development, testing, error correction, implementation and documentation of an SMI platform. SMI.
- Maintenance and support of the delivered platform, including the solution of problems, updates and changes / improvements necessary for the SMI to be functional and / or comply with the terms of the contract.
From the implementation of the new SMI , notifications, data copying, or advanced processing can be executed automatically , and other tasks such as signing documents or approving Geospatial products delivered by the industry will be executed manually.
